First Impressions
Walking up to Pension Edison, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical tourist hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The three-star property sits quietly on Edisonova street, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. I mean, when you see the same faces checking in again (apparently they get more repeat guests than most places), you know they’re doing something right. The building itself has that solid Central European charm without trying too hard to impress anyone.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Brno — it’s not Prague, which actually works in your favor. The location here is genuinely excellent, especially if you’re exploring as a couple (other guests have rated it 8.6 for romantic trips, and I can see why). You’re close enough to the city center that everything feels walkable, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually breathe. The fact that they have private parking on-site is huge if you’re driving — trust me, finding parking in European city centers can be a nightmare, so this detail matters more than you might think.
The Rooms
The accommodations are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run pension — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without any unnecessary frills. What I appreciated most was how quiet everything felt, even though you’re in the city. The rooms have that lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sterile chain hotel. You know what I mean? It’s the kind of place where everything works properly, the Wi-Fi is reliable, and you can actually get a good night’s sleep.
Breakfast & Practical Details
The continental breakfast setup is solid — nothing fancy, but they clearly pay attention to quality over quantity. What really stood out was their gluten-free options, which isn’t something you always find at smaller properties like this. The staff seems to genuinely care about dietary restrictions, which makes the whole experience feel more personal. Honestly, after staying at places where breakfast feels like an afterthought, it’s refreshing to find somewhere that treats the morning meal as part of the actual hospitality experience.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.1 rating tells the real story here — this is a place that consistently delivers on its promises without overselling itself. Those repeat guests I mentioned earlier? They’re coming back because Pension Edison does the fundamentals really well. You get a great location in Brno, reliable service, and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their friends. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but for travelers who value authenticity and solid value over flashy amenities, this pension hits exactly the right notes.
Brno’s hotels wrap guests in castle-hill views, relaxed Moravian charm, and concierge tips for hidden wine cellars.

Very Good
Really friendly and helpful staff. The place is in a quiet area, very close to public transport. The size of the room is above average. We recommend!!!
Good
Staff (hospitality, friendliness)
What could be improved: Poor Wi-Fi (speed), would appreciate if some vegatable would be available at breakfast
Nice stay next to the university.
Good location next to the university.

The politess and readiness to help.
What could be improved: Nothing

Location was perfect for my meetings in the area.
What could be improved: With hot weather you could think for air condition.
Close to Tech Park, quiet location
Great location, easily accessible by public transport, a car or walk, but away enough from the nearby highway, so it's nicely quiet. I loved the location also because I went to the Tech Park offices for bussiness and I was there in 5 minutes by walk. Great breakfast, friendly staff. A restaurant next door (not part of the pension).
What could be improved: Larger rooms more suitable for groups. It was unnecessarily big for one person, but okay. Too bad the next-door restaurant doesn't open a bit sooner in the morning (not part of the establishment).
Very Good
The place was very good for our trip. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and bright. Parking.
What could be improved: In front of the balcony is a restaurant and it's ventilator was turned on all night.. for me it was disturbing with open windows. With closed windows you can feel the lack of ventilation.
Wonderful
Quiet place, very close to the technical park.
What could be improved: It would be easier to receive the instructions on how to get the key/card by email, instead of having to call somebody to get the instructions.
Very Good
Spacious room and bath
What could be improved: A mosquito net would have been usefull. A bit fuggy smell.
Great for short stay in the area
For me, location is top. I liked the big room and bathroom. And I appreciate the check-in done on spot via phone:)
