Pension Edison
You know what surprised me about Pension Edison?
You know what surprised me about Pension Edison? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet street in Brno that most tourists never stumble across, but somehow you’re still walking distance from everything that matters. I mean, when you first see it from Edisonova street, it looks pretty unassuming – sort of like someone converted a solid old building into something more welcoming without trying too hard to impress anyone. Which, honestly, ends up being exactly what makes it work.
The thing about staying here is that you get this genuine Czech pension experience without the tourist trap nonsense you’ll find closer to the main square. The rooms have that comfortable, lived-in feeling – not fancy, but everything works and it’s clean in that thorough Central European way where someone actually cares about details. I stayed there during one of those gray November weeks (you know how Brno gets), and the heating was solid, the hot water didn’t run out even when I took ridiculously long showers, and the beds were firm enough that I didn’t wake up with a sore back. Small victories, but they add up. The staff actually remembers your name after day two, which is something you don’t get at those chain places near the train station.
What really sold me on the place was how it sits in the neighborhood – you’ve got locals walking their dogs past your window in the morning, there’s this little bakery maybe two blocks over that does proper rohlíky if you’re up early enough, and you can walk to Špilberk Castle without breaking a sweat or taking any trams. The area gets properly quiet at night too, which is perfect if you’re trying to recover from exploring all day or if you’re one of those people who can’t sleep through city noise. I’d say the only real downside is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle – street spots fill up pretty quickly, and you might end up walking a few blocks if you’re driving. But honestly, for an 8.1 rating and three stars, Pension Edison delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real instead of just passing through.

Very Good
Really friendly and helpful staff. The place is in a quiet area, very close to public transport. The size of the room is above average. We recommend!!!

Staff (hospitality, friendliness)
What could be improved: Poor Wi-Fi (speed), would appreciate if some vegatable would be available at breakfast
Nice stay next to the university.

Location was perfect for my meetings in the area.
What could be improved: With hot weather you could think for air condition.
Close to Tech Park, quiet location
Great location, easily accessible by public transport, a car or walk, but away enough from the nearby highway, so it's nicely quiet. I loved the location also because I went to the Tech Park offices for bussiness and I was there in 5 minutes by walk. Great breakfast, friendly staff. A restaurant next door (not part of the pension).
What could be improved: Larger rooms more suitable for groups. It was unnecessarily big for one person, but okay. Too bad the next-door restaurant doesn't open a bit sooner in the morning (not part of the establishment).
Very Good
The place was very good for our trip. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and bright. Parking.
What could be improved: In front of the balcony is a restaurant and it's ventilator was turned on all night.. for me it was disturbing with open windows. With closed windows you can feel the lack of ventilation.
Wonderful
Quiet place, very close to the technical park.
What could be improved: It would be easier to receive the instructions on how to get the key/card by email, instead of having to call somebody to get the instructions.
Very Good
Spacious room and bath
What could be improved: A mosquito net would have been usefull. A bit fuggy smell.
Great for short stay in the area
For me, location is top. I liked the big room and bathroom. And I appreciate the check-in done on spot via phone:)
