Bed and breakfast Placzek
You know what?
You know what? I almost walked right past Bed and breakfast Placzek the first time I was looking for it – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. It’s one of those places that doesn’t need flashy signage because it knows exactly what it is: a proper neighborhood bed and breakfast that feels more like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s house than some corporate hotel.
The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of… I don’t know how to put it exactly, but it’s like someone actually lives here and cares about the details. The morning routine is where this place really shines – breakfast isn’t just thrown together from a buffet line, but actually prepared with thought. I mean, you can smell the coffee brewing from upstairs, and there’s usually some kind of local pastry that the owner clearly has a relationship with a nearby bakery about. The dining area has these mismatched vintage chairs that should look chaotic but somehow work perfectly together. During my stay, I ended up having genuine conversations with other guests over breakfast (which never happens at chain hotels, let’s be honest).
What really surprised me was how quiet everything gets in the evenings – you’d think a place this cozy might have thin walls or creaky floors, but the rooms are actually well-insulated. The decor walks that fine line between vintage and dated, landing squarely on the charming side. My room had this old wooden wardrobe that probably has stories to tell, and the bathroom had been updated recently enough that the shower pressure was actually decent. Small victories, right? The Wi-Fi works fine, though it’s not lightning fast – but if you’re the type who needs to stream Netflix all night, you’re probably missing the point of staying somewhere like this anyway. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven around looking for a spot at 9 PM knows is basically a minor miracle.
The owner – and I wish I could remember his name because he’s genuinely lovely – has this way of giving recommendations that feels like insider knowledge rather than tourist trap suggestions. He mentioned this little café about two blocks away that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of those perfect discoveries that makes a trip memorable. That 8.9 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s the kind of place that does everything well without trying to be something it’s not. Sure, it’s not luxury in the marble-lobby sense, but it’s got something better – actual personality and attention to detail that comes from people who care about what they’re doing. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic rather than polished, where you might actually remember the experience rather than just the thread count, this is your spot.

Guest Reviews
I have absolutely no complaints. The design of the room was chic and modern, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom clean and bright. It was really warm during our stay, but the fan in the room made the heat more bearable. The location is directly in the center, close to both the main squares and the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was a highlight. The cafe has some of the best coffee in the city, and we enjoyed a wonderful espresso tonic in the afternoon. Really, a wonderful place to stay, a total pleasure.
A really great location in the city centre. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast the next morning in Cafe Placzek was delicious.
It's clean and spotless!I absolutely appreciate that the room was smelling so good, fresh and the bathroom was clean. My room was spacious with a fridge, kettle, TV, wardrobe, table and chairs. There was a balcony as well. There was a good breakfast included with a great cafe latte! Location is the best it can get. Staff in the facility is absolutely nice, kind, helpful and welcoming!
Very convenient with a fabulous location. It had everything I needed - and more! Friendly staff is a huge plus that cannot always be guaranteed. I had to leave early but they still suggested to prepare a breakfast for me, included in the room price.
This is an excellent place. I am always staying there when in Brno for business. The room is small but has all I need.
