Honestly, when I first walked up to 35 Štursova, I wasn’t expecting much – the building looks pretty standard from the street, you know? But this fourth-floor apartment completely changed my tune. The moment you step inside, everything feels crisp and modern in that satisfying way where you can tell nobody’s broken anything yet. The balcony is what really sold me though – it’s not huge, but it faces toward the city center and you can actually see some of Brno’s character from up there, especially in the evening when the lights start coming on.

What I love about this location is that it’s genuinely walkable to the good stuff without being right in the chaos. You’re maybe a 12-minute stroll to Svobody Square if you’re moving at a decent pace, and there’s this little Vietnamese place around the corner that locals actually eat at (always a good sign). The tram connections are solid too – I mean, you’ll figure out the system pretty quickly, and honestly it’s kind of fun once you get the hang of it. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see people walking their dogs and kids riding bikes, but it’s not sleepy. There’s a decent grocery store within a few blocks, which matters more than you’d think when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights.

The apartment itself is well thought out – whoever designed it actually considered how people live. The kitchen has real counter space, not just a tiny strip where you can barely fit a coffee cup. The bed is comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the WiFi works properly throughout the whole place. I was there during a pretty warm week in late spring and the balcony door creates a nice cross-breeze when you open the windows. One small thing – the building can get a bit echoey in the stairwell, but it’s not terrible and quiets down after about 10 PM. Parking took me a minute to figure out the first day, but there are spots available on the street if you’re patient, or there’s a parking garage about three blocks away if you want to guarantee something. What really impressed me was how clean everything stayed – you know how some rentals feel a bit grimy no matter what? This place actually feels fresh. For the price point and that 8.6 rating, it makes sense. It’s the kind of spot where you can spread out your stuff, cook a real meal if you want to, and still feel connected to what makes Brno interesting.
