Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and City Center Apartments totally nailed that whole “local living” vibe without trying too hard.
The thing about staying here is that you’re literally in the thick of things, but not in that touristy way where you’re dodging selfie sticks every five minutes. Františkánská is one of those narrow cobblestone streets that actually leads somewhere locals go – I mean, you can walk to Zelný trh (the cabbage market, though it’s way cooler than it sounds) in maybe three minutes, and honestly, watching the morning vendors set up with their flowers and vegetables became my favorite coffee ritual. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious for a European city center, with that clean, minimalist thing going on that actually works. I was worried about noise since old town streets can get pretty lively, but the windows are decent and once you’re inside, it’s actually quite peaceful. The kitchen setup is legit too – not just some sad mini-fridge situation, but proper appliances where you can actually cook if you want to hit up the local markets.
What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. Like, there’s proper hangers in the closets (revolutionary, I know), the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has actual water pressure – you’d be amazed how rare that combination is. Plus, the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, no weird hidden fees or confusing key card systems. The location really shines when you realize you’re about a seven-minute walk from all the main sights around Svobody náměstí, but you’re staying where actual Brno residents live and work. I’d grab morning coffee from this little spot around the corner where the barista started recognizing me after day two – that’s the kind of neighborhood feel you get here. Sure, it’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, and the building itself has that slightly worn European charm that some people might not love, but honestly? That 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s one of those places that just works – comfortable, well-located, reasonably priced, and run by people who seem to actually care about making your stay smooth rather than just checking boxes.

I had a late check-in and on the day of check-in they sent clear instructions on how to get to the room. The location is amazing, at the very beginning of the old city. Great breakfast.

The location, the comfort, roominess, lot of windows, well lighted, the bed, the kitchen, the bathroom, all the basic necessities provided, privacy, the peace and quiet, great view from the room on the old town

What could be improved: Being picky curtains did not blackout, wardrobe missing 3 handles, white UPC windows need a clean, but that is just very small maintainance and did not detract from a good rest in a comfy bed
Good value accommodation, close to the city centre
- The location is very central, close to basically everything.
- The apartment is roomy and clean, everything was in great condition.
- The code system for the doors works well, no need to worry about any keys.
- The breakfast in a nice addition, the staff was also kind.
- The Wifi worked well.
What could be improved: - I've only recieved information about the check-in process, on the day of arrival and I haven't got a confirmation when I had sent the requested documents. The breakfast location was also a mystery. I feel like communication could be improved on this front.
- As the previous reviews mentioned, the streets below are loud, even with closed windows, people are drinking and chatting, (even until 3-4 in the morning). It is not the owner's fault but it is unfortunately an issue. Earplugs are recommended.
- The apartment is advertised for 4 people. There is only 1 double-bed in the apartment, the other is a converted couch. Although it said, it only had 1 bed, the photos can be misleading. The couch was rather uncomfortable unfortunately.

The only suggestion : standing mirror would be nice in the room and parking is very expensive ( it’s not surprise due to the location :D)
