First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Vaka, you immediately sense this four-star property gets the details right. The lobby feels refined without being stuffy — there’s something refreshingly understated about the whole place that sets it apart from the typical business hotels you’ll find scattered around Brno. What struck me most was how the staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests, not just going through the motions. You know what I mean — that authentic warmth that makes you feel like you’ve made the right choice before you’ve even seen your room.
Prime Brno Location
The location on Cimburkova is honestly fantastic, especially if you’re planning to explore Brno’s historic center on foot. You’re close enough to walk to the main sights without being stuck in the tourist chaos, which couples particularly seem to appreciate — I can see why they rate it so highly. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of local cafes and easy access to public transport, so you can venture out to places like Špilberk Castle or the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul without any hassle. Plus, having free private parking here is actually a big deal since finding a decent parking spot in central Brno can be a real headache.
The Rooms
I’ll be honest — the beds here are exceptional. There’s something about sinking into them after a day of wandering around the city that just works perfectly. The rooms themselves strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and subtle Czech character, though they’re not trying too hard to be trendy or overly themed. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen, from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the space to actually be functional for travelers. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being flashy, and you’ll find all those little touches that show someone was thinking about what guests actually need.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast buffet is solid — not groundbreaking, but definitely satisfying with a good mix of local and international options. What I appreciated was the quality of the ingredients and the fact that they keep everything well-stocked even during busy periods. You’ll find traditional Czech pastries alongside the usual continental fare, and the coffee is actually decent (which isn’t always a given at hotel breakfast buffets, let’s be real). The dining area has nice natural light, so it’s a pleasant way to start your day before heading out to explore Brno’s surprisingly vibrant food scene.
Why Guests Love It
There’s clearly something special happening here — the number of repeat guests tells you everything you need to know about Hotel Vaka. It’s that rare combination of getting the fundamentals right while adding just enough personality to feel memorable. The staff seems to genuinely care about your experience, the location puts you right where you want to be, and those incredibly comfortable beds mean you’ll actually get proper rest. For a four-star hotel in Brno, it delivers exactly what you’re hoping for without any unpleasant surprises — which, honestly, is more valuable than you might think when you’re traveling.
Early hotels booking in Brno requires advance planning during peak racing seasons when visitors flock to see the city’s famous motorsport events and architectural landmarks.

Guest Reviews
Nice, quiet little hotel, with parking . Helpful staff. Comfortable bed, foam, I think. Quiet air conditioner. Excellent, tasty breakfast with a lot of options, both savory and sweet. Very good coffee machine with very good coffee. Nice plants in the hallway. And a sweet cat, who has been there since the beginning, I was told, for about fifteen years 🙂
Hotel Vaka is more like a hotel for a short stay. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The venue is close to a huge shopping mall, so you easily can get some food if you need to. But not for breakfast, because the hotel provides a very nice and rich buffet-breakfast w different eggs, hams, cold plates, and sweet. Cofee is really fresh and good as well. It was a short and nice stay. A safe parking place is also provided for guests.
Loved the cosiness of the Vaka with its resident cat and super-friendly staff.
The secure carpark was a nice bonus.
It was handy having a shopping centre nearby.
The journey into the city centre was short and simple by bus/taxi - could even walk it.
Liked being able to walk straight out into an area of parkland above the hotel. It was so quiet around the hotel.
very nice hotel, friendly staf, all was execeptional. We will come back again.
Good as always
Great food and comfortable beds.
Quiet location, free parking, great breakfast. Perfect for sightseeing. Next is huge shopping mall. :)
the breakfast was decent, the same everyday even though weve been there for 7 nights ,wanted a bit of change in the meals. the rest was great , huge thank you to Margarita for the help, she was the only one who spoke with us the same language and it was nice.
Very well located little Hotel for visiting Brno by car. They have a parking lot and you can take the bus into the city (only 10min). Decor has a 2000s Charme with Pictures of local artists. Quite a big breakfast buffet for the small size of the hotel.
Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful, hotel clean and tidy, room was great, comfortable beds, bathroom large. Breakfast was lovely, location next to a Tesco and shopping centre was perfect due to being on a road trip, able to stock up easily.
