APARTIA Křenová, Brno-center
Honestly, when I first walked up to APARTIA Křenová, I wasn't quite sure what to expect – the entrance is sort of tucked into this converted ground floor space on a pretty busy street in Brno's center.
Honestly, when I first walked up to APARTIA Křenová, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the entrance is sort of tucked into this converted ground floor space on a pretty busy street in Brno’s center. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming places turn out to be the real gems, and this one’s got some serious advantages if you know what you’re getting into.
The location is actually fantastic once you get your bearings. Křenová Street puts you right in the thick of things – I mean, you can walk to the main square in maybe ten minutes, and there’s this great little tram stop practically outside your door that’ll zip you anywhere in the city. The neighborhood has that authentic Central European vibe where locals are grabbing coffee at corner cafés and students from Masaryk University are always bustling around with their backpacks. Sure, it can get a bit noisy during the day with the trams and street traffic, but honestly, that’s just city life in Brno. The evenings actually quiet down quite nicely.
What surprised me most was how well-thought-out the apartment setups are – these aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms. The kitchenette situation is legit (I actually cooked breakfast a couple mornings), and there’s proper storage space, which is clutch if you’re staying more than just a night or two. The Wi-Fi works great, which matters when you’re trying to figure out Czech public transport apps or translate restaurant menus. I will say the building feels a bit institutional from the outside – it’s clearly a converted commercial space – but inside, they’ve done a decent job making it feel more homey. The check-in process was smooth enough, though you might want to coordinate arrival times since it’s not a traditional 24/7 hotel desk setup.
Here’s the thing about staying here: you’re not getting luxury, but you’re getting solid value in a spot where most budget places are either sketchy or way out in the suburbs. The 3-star rating feels about right – clean, functional, no major complaints, but don’t expect fancy toiletries or room service. For the price point in this part of Brno, especially during summer when the city gets packed with tourists and conference-goers, it’s honestly a smart choice. Plus, you’ll save money eating at the amazing Vietnamese restaurants just a few blocks over on Milady Horákové Street instead of hotel breakfast – trust me on that one.

Close to the center, clean bedroom
What could be improved: Small bed for a couple, hard to open the door to apartment - the lock is probably broken a little bit, coffee machine leaked when making coffee, noisy neighbours, location is full of homeless people, not comfortable to go home in the evening

A wasted day in Brno.
Not very far from the train station. Basic studio accommodation, very clean. Excellent Wi-Fi.
What could be improved: Not the studio fault but there is no grocery stores nor restaurants nearby. And it rained all day, so no chance to visit old Brno.
