Look, I’ll be straight with you about APARTIA Vlhká 26 – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way. When I first walked up to this converted building on Vlhká street, honestly, it didn’t scream “wow” from the outside. But here’s the thing about Brno’s city center – some of the best spots are tucked into these unassuming corners, and this aparthotel is exactly that kind of hidden gem.
The location is actually brilliant, and I mean that in a very practical sense. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Svobody Square, which means you can stumble back from those late-night wine bars in the old town without dealing with taxis or trying to figure out the tram system (though Brno’s trams are pretty decent, to be fair). What I really appreciated was how quiet Vlhká street stays, even on weekends. You know how some “central” hotels basically mean you’re listening to drunk tourists until 3 AM? Not here. The street has this nice residential feel, but you’re still close enough that when you step out for morning coffee, you’ve got proper cafés within two blocks – not just some sad hotel lobby machine.
The apartments themselves feel lived-in in the good way, if that makes sense. They’re not trying to be fancy design hotels with uncomfortable modern furniture that looks good in photos but makes you miss your couch at home. Instead, you get proper kitchens (and I mean proper – full-size fridge, decent stovetop, actual counter space), which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The beds are solid, the wifi actually works from every corner (tested this while video calling from the bathroom, don’t ask), and the heating responds when you adjust it – small things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere, not just passing through. I will say the soundproofing between apartments could be better; you might hear your neighbors if they’re particularly enthusiastic about… whatever they’re doing. But it’s not deal-breaking noise, just something to mention.
What really won me over was how the whole operation feels genuinely local rather than some international chain trying to replicate “Czech charm.” The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give proper restaurant recommendations – not just the tourist traps near the cathedral. They pointed me toward this incredible traditional hospoda about ten minutes away that I never would’ve found otherwise, tucked down some side street that barely fits on Google Maps. That kind of local knowledge you just can’t fake. The 7.9 rating feels about right to me; it’s not going to change your life or become your Instagram backdrop, but it delivers exactly what you need for exploring Brno properly. Plus, parking is actually manageable in this area if you’re driving – which, trust me, is not something you can say about most of the city center.

Very Good
Close to the city centre.
What could be improved: It was very difficult to find out how to open the entrance doors to the house.
Very Good
Very nice studio. Very big!
What could be improved: Strage location. Near the center, but with a lot of homeless people on the street and a lot of drunks. Not so clean area.
Good
Is a big apartment, with fornitures
What could be improved: Position Is not the best, people around not very nice
Good
The location was good. The room was well lit and airy.
What could be improved: The apartment was located one flight above the lift lobby, hence not easy to take the luggage.
No wardrobe to hang the clothes.
No cleaning service for 4 days
No one to meet you for explaining what is available or how it works. A initial meeting to explain the apartment would be desirable.
No basic ingredients to make coffee or tea. Only kettle and all kitchen equipment was there.
Good
It's a regular apartment with everything needed for a short stay.
Self check-in is convenient, although a little tricky to find your way around the building :D
Nice shower and a comfortable bed.
What could be improved: The apartment is right next to the train rack, so it can get loud with the passing trains.
It was also very warm in there.
Very good price-quality ratio
The size of the apartment, the price, the distance from city center, cleanliness, the comfort, the prompt responses from the landlord, the free parking, the temperature in the apartment was very godd, was warm although outside was pretty cold
What could be improved: Nothing, but to mention something, it might be helpful a solution for the coathangers, however we managed to hang them after the entrance. With closed windows you can hear the trains, but for us there was absolutely no issue (we have spent 6 nights there)
