So I stumbled across Hotel JeštěBrno during what was supposed to be a quick business trip to Brno, and honestly? I’m kind of annoyed I waited this long to discover this place. It’s tucked away on Majdalenky street in a quieter part of the city – you know, one of those spots where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of trams rattling by at 6 AM. The building itself has this understated elegance that immediately made me think “okay, someone here actually cares about details.” Check-in was refreshingly smooth, none of that awkward hovering while they figure out their computer system.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Brno, not just the tourist handbook version. When I mentioned I was hoping to find some decent coffee that wasn’t Starbucks, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the city center – he actually sketched out a little route to this local roastery about ten minutes’ walk away, then casually mentioned which tram stop would get me back if I was feeling lazy later. That’s the kind of local insight you just don’t get at the big chain places. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – clean, comfortable, with that satisfying weight to the curtains that means you’ll actually sleep in if you want to. I mean, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly (always my first test), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your suitcase.
The neighborhood itself is pretty ideal, actually. You’re close enough to walk into the historical center when the mood strikes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend party crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. There’s a decent bakery literally around the corner – I kept meaning to explore other breakfast options but their koláče were too good to skip. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which anyone who’s driven in European city centers will appreciate. What impressed me most was how the hotel felt properly Czech without trying too hard, if that makes sense. No over-the-top folkloric decorations or tourist-trap vibes, just solid hospitality with a local touch. The kind of place where you end up having actual conversations with other guests at breakfast instead of everyone staring at their phones. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels with fancier amenities and higher price tags, but there’s something to be said for a place that just gets the fundamentals right and makes you feel like you’re actually visiting Brno, not just sleeping in some generic hotel that happens to be located there.
Apartments in Brno provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Czech markets and cook with regional Moravian specialties.

A good place with a tasty breakfast.
Comfortable large room, nice bathroom, delicious breakfast.
What could be improved: This is not a SPA hotel. Pools and saunas are charged extra, which the staff does not inform about. We were asked at check-in if we wanted to use them, and the fee was added immediately, I only realized it in the room. The money was refunded without any issues at check-out, but it's something to be aware of.
Very Good
Really good value for money

What could be improved: swimming pool and spa for an additional fee. For trips into the city, it is advisable to have your own car (rentacar).

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Brno
Everything was excellent, the rooms matched the photos. Breakfast was excellent, the staff was pleasant, the parking lot was large enough. Public transport to the center of Brno about 20 minutes.
What could be improved: Soundproofing between the room and the hallway, the wellness area is rather small, but we knew that. There were more children in the wellness area before 6 pm, so it's ideal to come after 6 pm, when access is only for adults.
Exceptional
Smiles go a long way. Amazing place to stay. Great breakfast, I even had something sweet
What could be improved: Absolutly nothing to complain
