Penzion Královská Cesta
You know what?
You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to Penzion Královská Cesta – the name translates to “Royal Route,” which sounds pretty grand for a 3-star place. But here’s the thing about Prague pensions: they’re often tucked into these beautiful old buildings that have more character than most fancy hotels, and this one definitely delivers on that front. The entrance has this lovely old-world charm that immediately makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual history, not just another cookie-cutter hotel room. I mean, the building itself tells a story, and you can sense it the moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors.
What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to care about making your stay work out well. Check-in was smooth – no rushing, no attitude – and they took time to give me real recommendations, not just the tourist trap stuff everyone suggests. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star: clean, comfortable beds that don’t leave you with a sore back, and enough space to actually unpack your stuff without everything being crammed together. The bathrooms are updated enough that the shower pressure won’t disappoint you (honestly, this matters more than people admit when you’re walking around Prague all day). Sure, it’s not luxury, but there’s something refreshing about a place that knows exactly what it is and does it really well.
The location is where this place really shines, though I won’t lie and say it’s right in the heart of Old Town – it’s actually better than that. You’re close enough to walk to the major sights without dealing with the constant crowds and street performers right outside your window at night. I could get to Charles Bridge in about fifteen minutes on foot, which meant I could beat the tour groups there in the morning but still retreat to a quieter neighborhood when I wanted to decompress. There’s a little café around the corner where locals actually go for coffee (not just tourists taking Instagram photos), and honestly, that morning coffee ritual became one of my favorite parts of staying here. The whole area has this residential feel where you can imagine actually living in Prague, not just visiting it. For the price point and that 8.1 rating it’s got, Penzion Královská Cesta delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable, authentic Prague experience without the inflated prices of the hotels right in the tourist zone.

Guest Reviews
I loved the location as it was close to town and restaurants where we could have lunch and dinner. I also loved the privacy of the rooms, only the cleaning lady could access the room and that's on request.

I didn't found breakfast in this pension
The stuff of this business was very responsive and reasonable. Their procedure of checking in allows good elasticity for any inconveniences.

Clean, tidy and quiet. The check-in experience was different but very efficient too. The view out the window was amazing that looked on to a very scenic mural painted on the opposite wall.
