Pension U Dolezalu
You know what struck me first about Pension U Dolezalu?
You know what struck me first about Pension U Dolezalu? It’s tucked away on Buzkova Street in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t found yet. I mean, it’s still central Brno – you can walk to Špilberk Castle in about fifteen minutes – but there’s this residential quiet to the area that honestly surprised me for a 3-star place.
The building itself has that solid Central European charm without trying too hard. When I checked in, the owner (actually a member of the Doležal family, which I appreciated) knew the neighborhood like the back of his hand. He pointed me toward this little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM – the kind of local intel you just don’t get at chain hotels. The rooms are what you’d expect for the price point, but they’re genuinely clean and the beds are comfortable enough that I slept well even with the trams running nearby. Speaking of trams, the stop on Rooseveltova is maybe a five-minute walk, and from there you’re connected to basically everywhere in Brno that matters.
What really won me over was how the place just… works. The WiFi actually functions (I was working remotely part of the time), there’s decent coffee available in the morning, and when I had questions about getting to Moravian-Silesian region for a day trip, they had practical advice rather than just handing me a tourist brochure. The shower pressure was surprisingly good – I know that sounds mundane, but after a long day walking around the old town, it matters. There’s street parking if you’re driving, though you’ll want to ask about the zones because Brno’s parking situation can be tricky if you’re not familiar with it. Honestly, for what I paid and the location, I’d stay here again. It’s the kind of place where you’re getting solid value without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re exploring a city like Brno that has so much character on its own.
To book hotel in Brno during the famous Brno Circuit MotoGP season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts motorsport enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Brno attic
Nice place, queit place, easy to acces old town.
What could be improved: You have to take care at ceiling.
Good overnight stay in a quiet place
The hotel is located in a quite an aged building, it is small, not many rooms, so it is quiet, interesting and nice; not like contemporary big hotels. It is located on a quiet narrow street of 2-floor houses, quite far from city center, though a tram is at the adjacent street to get to the Old town (~25 min). The tram can be easily paid by a card inside.
The hostess is kind and helpful. She provides good breakfasts right into the room at a pre-agreed time, also she recommended a place for a dinner and guidance around the city. Actually that was all we needed.
What could be improved: Please take into account the parking nearby can become paid during the working hours. Please refer to hostess for directions. We were advised for a place on an adjacent street.
Very Good
Very caring staff. Breakfast was brought to our room. Clean and cozy.
What could be improved: Parking near the apartments is paid, which is not a big issue, but we weren’t prepared for it. We lost a bit of time figuring out how to pay for parking.
Good
The room is big and the beds are comfortable. It was really quiet which we appreciated since we needed rest from a long trip. The breakfast was also good, especially the coffee.
What could be improved: The washbasin in the bathroom was leaking, so we had to brush our teeth in the shower. It was really late and the owner doesn't speak English or German, so we didn't say anything. He was still very nice and we always value a pet-friendly accomodation.
Very Good
The place is very quiet, and this is its main advantage. We've got the room in the attic and it was truly rustic, but we didn't mind that. The hosts were nice. The breakfast was modest but decent. I would say it is a fair value for money.
What could be improved: - It's not very convenient to use the toilet in the attic because of the low ceiling, but that's how the house is.
- When we arrived, the hostess said that she had cancelled our reservation, although there was no information about this on the booking app. This made us panic for a moment, because it was already evening and we were very tired. But then the hostess said that she would prepare a room for us, so everything ended well.
Very Good
Good location, 30 min. walking to the city center. Close to dog parks, cafes, grocery shops. Friendly staff, sufficient breakfast. I had an issue in my room and the owner resolved the problem promptly.
What could be improved: Poor soundproofing, you can hear your neighbors. Sometimes there was a smell of smoking.
Room for one with bathroom and breakfast
Great option for staying overnight, included breakfast (with good coffee and warm pastries) as bonus. Small clean room with towels, TV and bathroom. Around 5 minutes walk to the tram station.
What could be improved: Bad water pressure in the shower. Worse noise isolation from the corridor.
Very Good
Good value for the money. The room was spacious, bed is comfortable. Breakfast is simple but was served in the room and the coffee was tasty. Tram is very near and you can reach downtown in 15 minutes.
What could be improved: Only cash is excepted.

What could be improved: strange smell of the room but nothing drastic
Very Good
Quiet corner of Brno.
What could be improved: No kitchen facility
