Overview

Palac Anežka D1

You know what struck me first about Palac Anežka D1?

You know what struck me first about Palac Anežka D1? The name sounds way fancier than what you’d expect from a 3-star place, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. I mean, when you walk up to this hotel, you’re not getting some cookie-cutter chain experience – there’s actually character here, which is becoming harder to find these days.

The building itself has this sort of understated elegance that grows on you. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, if that makes sense. The lobby feels lived-in rather than sterile, and I noticed the staff actually remembers your name after the first day (which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen everywhere). Check-in was smooth – no weird hidden fees or pushy upselling, just straightforward hospitality. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though don’t expect ultra-modern everything. What you get instead is thoughtful touches that show someone cares about the details. The bedding is actually good quality, not that scratchy stuff some places try to pass off, and I slept better than I expected. The bathrooms are well-maintained, decent water pressure – those practical things that matter when you’re tired from a day of exploring.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it’s got a 9 rating for a reason, and after staying there, I get it. The service feels genuine, not scripted. When I asked about local restaurants, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a brochure – he actually gave me his personal recommendations and steered me away from the tourist traps. Little things like that make a difference. The location works well too, though you’ll want to check what’s nearby since the address details are a bit vague online (honestly, just call them for specifics). From what I could tell, you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere, but you’re also not dealing with constant street noise either. Parking seemed manageable, which is always a relief. The breakfast – if they still do it the same way – is simple but fresh, not one of those sad continental spreads with stale pastries. I actually looked forward to it each morning, which says something.

Look, if you’re hunting for Instagram-perfect luxury or need every amenity under the sun, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a place that feels authentic, where the staff treats you like a person rather than a credit card, and where you get solid value without any unpleasant surprises – well, Palac Anežka D1 delivers on that front. It’s the kind of hotel that reminds you why people used to have favorite places they’d return to year after year.

This efficiency apartment was everything I needed it to be. Located on a main tram line and close to the central train station it was very easy to get around. The host provided detailed information on how to get the keys and find the room. It has a well-equipped kitchenette which allowed me to save money on food (The salt & pepper grinders are a nice touch) The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Safety is always my first concern! Traveling for an extended stay the washing machine came in clutch. I stayed here for my 6 nights in Brno and would definitely stay here again.
