First Impressions
Walking up to Palac Anežka B1 on Hybešova street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s one of those places that looks unassuming from the outside but has real character once you step inside. The building itself has this old-world charm that fits perfectly with Brno‘s historic center, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. You’re literally in the heart of everything, which means you can walk to most of the city’s main attractions without breaking a sweat.
Location & Getting Around
I mean, when a three-star hotel gets a location score of 8.9, you know they’re doing something right. You’re steps away from Špilberk Castle, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, and all those winding cobblestone streets that make Brno so photogenic. What I really appreciated was having parking available on-site — if you’ve ever tried to find a parking spot in a European city center, you know this is basically gold. The tram stops are close by too, so getting to the train station or exploring the outskirts is pretty straightforward.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, with that slightly vintage European feel that you either love or find a bit dated — I happened to love it. The beds are decent quality, and the bathroom was updated enough to feel modern without losing the building’s character. You know what surprised me? How quiet it was at night, considering you’re right in the city center. The windows do a good job of keeping the street noise out, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings.
Practical Details
The staff here actually seem to care about what they’re doing, which makes a difference when you need recommendations or help with anything. They’re not just going through the motions — they’ll give you real advice about where to eat or what to see. The Wi-Fi works well throughout the building, and there’s a small common area where you can sit and plan your day if your room feels too cramped. It’s not fancy, but everything works as it should.
Why Couples Love It
There’s something about this place that just works for romantic getaways — maybe it’s the intimate size, or the way you can walk hand-in-hand through Brno’s old town right from your doorstep. The fact that couples consistently rate it highly isn’t surprising when you experience it yourself. You’re close enough to everything that you can be spontaneous — grab dinner at one of the nearby Czech pubs, take an evening stroll up to the castle, or just wander the streets without any real plan. For a three-star property, Palac Anežka B1 delivers exactly what you want: a comfortable base in an unbeatable location that doesn’t try to be something it’s not.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Brno at least two months ahead for major events like MotoGP or technology conferences, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near attractions.

Guest Reviews
