Apartmán U Mendláku
You know what?
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartmán U Mendláku – honestly, the name alone had me wondering what I’d gotten myself into. But sometimes the places that don’t try too hard to impress you end up being exactly what you need.
This is one of those perfectly decent 3-star spots that just gets the basics right without any fuss. The apartment-style setup means you’re not crammed into a tiny hotel room, and there’s actually space to spread out your stuff (which, let’s be real, is half the battle when you’re traveling). The kitchen situation is pretty solid too – I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but you can definitely make coffee in the morning and heat up leftovers without feeling like you’re performing surgery in a shoebox. The whole place has this lived-in feeling that’s way more comfortable than those sterile chain hotels where everything smells like industrial cleaning products.
What really sold me on this place was how quiet it gets at night. I’m usually the person lying awake listening to every footstep in the hallway or car door slamming outside, but here? Actually slept through the night, which is saying something. The neighborhood has this residential vibe where people are just going about their normal lives – you’ll hear kids playing outside during the day and maybe some conversation drifting up from the street in the evenings, but nothing that’ll keep you up. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward waiting around while they explain seventeen different amenities you’ll never use. The staff just handed over the keys and pointed out where to park (which, by the way, is way easier than I expected – there’s actual designated spots, not some nightmare parallel parking situation).
Look, I’m not going to pretend this is some luxury experience or Instagram-worthy boutique spot. The décor is pretty standard, maybe a little dated if I’m being completely honest, but everything works and it’s clean. The shower actually has decent water pressure, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are comfortable enough that you’re not counting down the days until you get home to your own mattress. For what you’re paying, especially given that 8 out of 10 rating from other travelers, it’s actually a pretty solid deal. Sometimes you just want a place that does what it says on the tin without any drama – and that’s exactly what you get here. Perfect for longer stays when you want to feel a bit more settled, or honestly just when you’re tired of paying hotel prices for the privilege of having someone vacuum around your feet in the lobby.

Guest Reviews
The host was very informative, very kind and always available. The apartment was very cozy with all the facilities available for a quality time. The location was really great, with tram stops very nearby and close to the main centre. Also, many thanks to the host for providing stand fan/ ventilator in this hot weather.
Good place for resting,it was quiet and peaceful. Everything is clean in the room:)
The apartment has everything you need for a stay. Full bathroom, washing machine, dishes, cups, kettle, coffee machine, microwave, fridge - everything! Even the frying oil was there, which is rare in apartments. I very much appreciate it!
The bed was big and comfortable. The wardrobe is big too. The size of the flat may seem tiny but it was totally enough.
The location is fine, 20 min walk from the main station, same to the city center. The street is quiet, and the trams won't bother you with noise.
Excellent location, very easy to get to both city center and Spilberg castle on foot. Very comfortable bed. Window is facing towards the yard, with plenty of greenery, providing both seclusion and isolation from noise.
It was kind that there were coffee, beer and little choclate for both of us, which was a kind gesture. Location wise it was also fine,a bit outskirts but the tram was close by.
the location is easy to find
Is about 20' walk from the old town not too bad location. Super clean. The towels were smelling so nice snd refreshing.
Not too bad location
